Aacer Flooring LLC has been undergoing company restructure since June, 2009 and now is completing an important stage. The filing for receivership is allowing a new ownership to emerge which will properly capitalize the company and prepare it for the future. Changes that are taking place in the wood products industry due to US economy and housing market crash have necessitated many changes industry wide. We are adapting to these changes to remain a very competitive and long term player in the marketplace.
Aacer remains open for business as normal, and is taking and filling orders with the same great service and quality that our customers have come to expect.
Our MFMA status remains intact and all past, present and future warranties are not affected in any way.
There is much misreporting or partial reporting of information in the rumor mill and in certain media outlets. If you have any questions please call your Aacer representative for immediate clarification. We are here today and will be here for many tomorrows to serve you.

Baltimore, MD – It was a cold and windy night in the Charm City on December 10th, but it certainly did not hinder the Baltimore chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) from having a great time with a Maryland tradition: duckpin bowling! Aacer was proud to be a significant sponsor for the event, and we were proud to be supported by Miller Flooring’s Steve Brown and Matt Shaefer. Armed with shirts displaying Aacer’s new logo, the Aacer team slid into action, exploding duckpins everywhere – and the occasional gutterball, of course! On the Aacer team was Northeastern Regional Manager Kit Burkholder, Miller Flooring’s Steve Brown and Matt Shaefer, Cannon Design’s Baltimore specifications writer Ken Hercenberg, Gaudreau project architect Lane Ikeler, and W.R. Grace Senior Sales Representative John Horenkamp. Aacer continues to support CSI across the country, and hopes that this successful event is a precursor to an excellent national convention when CSI comes to Philadelphia in May of 2010. Thanks to everyone who attended, and Happy Holidays from Aacer!

Virginia High School’s (Bristol, VA) gym floor was recently replaced with materials from Aacer Flooring courtesy of the workmanship of Recreational Plus from Richmond, VA. The floor 29 year-old floor had water damage and dead spots in various areas which necessitated its replacement, but the old floor had played host to significant events and people over its lifetime.
In addition to daily use by thousands of Virginia High School students, it played host to perennial prep power Oak Hill Academy players who went on to major college and NBA careers: Carmelo Anthony, Michael Beasley, Kevin Durant, Brandon Jennings, Ty Lawson, Rajon Rondo, Jerry Stackhouse, and Rod Strickland, to name a few. In 2008, it also hosted a famous politician and former basketball player during a campaign stop. Then-presidential nominee Barack Obama delivered an address from center court.
The floor system installed is AacerChannel, using Aacer’s new Tri Power pads and 1st grade maple. The Tri Power pads are made from EPDM rubber, have excellent load handling, provide tremendous uniformity of play, and emit low vibration. This pad update to AacerChannel offers the best combination of shock absorption, environmental stability, uniformity of play, and rolling load capability on the market. AacerChannel is used by the following basketball programs: Iowa State University, the University of Arizona, the University of Louisville, Middle Tennessee State University, the College of Charleston, and for the Charlotte Bobcats, to name a few.
The floor was installed by Aacer-accredited installer Recreational Plus out of Richmond, VA. Aacer and Recreational Plus hope to help the careers of future Virginia blue-chip players with this performance floor installation!

Gov. Rick Perry today thanked veterans for their selfless sacrifice and service to our country. The governor spoke at a ribbon cutting at a home built by the Bay Area Builders Association Support Our Troops (BABASOT) for veteran Sgt. David Worswick. BABASOT helps disabled veterans by building more accessible homes to accommodate their injuries.
“America is blessed to have such courageous souls in our midst, wearing our nation’s uniform and standing guard over us,” Gov. Perry said. “I commend the Bay Area Builders for helping pay back at least some of the great debt that we, as a nation, owe those who sacrifice to secure our freedom.”
Worswick was on a mission to confront insurgents in Assadabad, Afghanistan, when his convoy was ambushed, and his vehicle was struck by a road-side bomb. He was thrust head first into the windshield and knocked unconscious, and later awoke to an intense fire fight. Uncertain of what happened, Worswick immediately attended to an injured fellow Marine, helping to keep him alive.
After returning to base camp, Worswick lost consciousness and learned he had suffered post concussion syndrome. An immediate evacuation was ordered, and he was flown to Bagrahm Air Base and eventually back to the United States. Worswick has had numerous spinal surgeries, and suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and hearing loss. He was medically retired from the Marines in July 2007.
Aacer was proud to be part of this fantastic event and it is our way of giving back to those who have sacrificed the most. Aacer donated the wood flooring for the custom built home. Aacers Pre-finished 3 1/4″ Northern Hard Rock Maple was selected.

Aacer Flooring is especially proud of our latest college reference, LSU’s University Recreation (UREC) Student Recreation Complex Gymnasium and Indoor Track.
On September 1, 2008, Hurricane Gustav ripped through Baton Rouge and destroyed parts of the roof of the gymnasium that lead to significant water damage. The copper roofing was blown off; exposing the entire gymnasium to the elements of the storm. This also caused the Student Recreation Complex to be without electricity for 4 days. LSU UREC administrators worked diligently with the state and LSU departments to restore the gymnasium to its pre-storm condition. Construction began on July 6, 2009 to renovate the gymnasium and on Monday, November 2, 2009, the UREC Student Recreation Center gymnasium re-opened after being closed for fourteen months. The university community now has a new gym floor configured for basketball, volleyball, and badminton.
The 25,000 square-foot gym floor is the tested and proven AacerCush II floor system. It uses 2nd and better grade maple over two layers of ½” plywood with ½” thick recycled rubber pads mounted once every square foot. The “Eco” pad provides great shock absorption at a moderate price and is composed of 90% post-consumer recycled material. This allows for good environmental stability and uniformity of play.
The floor was installed by Aacer-accredited installer Sports Unlimited out of Stillwater, OK. Aacer and Sports Unlimited are very happy to help the LSU recreation community in their recovery efforts.

In January 2004, McDonald’s heiress Joan Kroc left a gift of $1.5 billion to The Salvation Army to build and help operate corps community centers across the country. After 20 months and three competitive phases, The Salvation Army in Salem, OR was awarded a portion of the Ray and Joan Kroc gift to build and operate The Kroc Center in Salem.
Salem has received $35.5 million from the Ray and Joan Kroc gift to build the Community Center and $35.5 for an endowment to help operate the facility. Local fundraising efforts brought the total project contribution to $81 million. The project officially opened for business in September 2009, and will offer recreational and community outreach services seven days a week. http://www.salemkroc.org/
Brandsen Hardwood Floors, Inc. emerged as the flooring contractor of choice during the selection process, and Aacer sports floors were installed throughout the building with Aacer’s parquet flooring installed in the aerobics area, AacerCush II with 1 ½” maple in the gym, and AacerFlex with 2 ¼” maple in the chapel. Brandsen also fabricated multiple custom maple trim details to accent the beauty of the Aacer maple while offering the non-profit community center an economic solution.
“We are once again completely satisfied with Aacer floor systems,” said Terry Brandsen of Brandsen Hardwood Floors. Aacer is proud to have Terry in our network. Thanks for the hard work, and the great results. The hard-working people at Aacer are proud to be a part of this project.
