SAFE FOR YOUR FAMILY & PETS. Aacer Flooring’s prefinished flooring uses a urethane and acrylic blend of 100% solid UV finish. Because it is 100% solid material, no VOCs or HAPs are generated. The flooring is safe – it does not release or produce any toxic or heavy fumes. This is true during the manufacturing of the floor AND once it arrives and is installed in family homes.
Are you wondering…What are VOCs and HAPs? These two acronyms are often heard when working on new construction or renovation projects. VOCs, or Volatile Organic Compounds, are organic chemicals that have a high vapor pressure at ordinary room temperatures. They can pose dangers to our health, such as eye, nose and throat irritation. At high levels, they can damage the liver, kidney and central nervous system.
HAP, Hazardous Air Pollutants, also known as toxic air pollutants or air toxics, are those pollutants that are known or suspected to cause cancer or other serious health effects. Examples of toxic air pollutants are: benzene, asbestos, toluene, cadmium, mercury.
The other feature we’re proud of is that our products are SAFE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT. Roll coaters are used to apply finish to Aacer flooring. All unused material is recirculated back into the bucket to be reused; therefore creating ZERO waste. The wash solvents used at Aacer are VOC and HAP compliant. All wash solvents are recycled and used in cement kilns. Aacer generates ZERO hazardous waste from our finishing system.
