Jerry Ort, an owner of Aacer Flooring, Tigerton Lumber, and Wittenburg Hardwoods, announced this week that employees at their three local businesses could earn extra cash for being fully vaccinated.
Effective August 30, employees who already are, or get fully vaccinated, will receive $300 each. Those employees will also have a chance to win an additional $1,000 prize. Nine $1,000 prizes will be drawn from the pool of fully vaccinated employees from across the 3 businesses.
Ort says he’s not requiring the vaccine, but he hopes this helps employees decide to get it. “I just want to offer this to people to maybe help them change their mind or get them thinking about it so they get more information about it,” Ort said. He says he was inspired to start this incentive after seeing firsthand what COVID can do, as his father passed away from it last year.
The incentive will run until October 15th.
